AMELIA
COX
JOURNALIST | FILMMAKER | GRAPHIC DESIGNER
LET'S WORK TOGETHER
Amelia Cox is a multi-award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker. She has investigated high-profile stories, including exposing widespread sexual abuse in athletics, uncovering a nationally circulated scam using open-source intelligence, and revealing new evidence about a disaster that killed 43 people in 1990.
She specialises in crafting longform content that combines rigorous reporting with ambitious production in extreme environments. Her documentary for Montane, which covered the launch of two vital medical clinics on a 7,000m mountain in Kyrgyzstan, required her to spend a month living at over 4,000m above sea level, dealing with altitude sickness, completing challenging hikes with heavy camera equipment, and navigating across deep crevasses in a blizzard to film the hard work of the medics and rescue team.
Her documentary, Found In The Ice, has won two awards from the Royal Television Society and the ITV Will Venters Memorial Prize. She has also recently been nominated for the NCTJ Awards for Excellence for her sports magazine, Sidelines.
Amelia is also an accomplished graphic designer with experience creating visually compelling digital assets. Her client portfolio includes Lloyds Banking Group, Ted Todd, and CRJ. With a strong eye for design and a focus on storytelling through imagery, she helps organisations communicate their message with clarity and impact.

FOUND IN THE ICE
Filmmaking | Documentary | Journalism
Found In The Ice tells the true story of one of the deadliest mountaineering disasters in history.
In 1990, a devastating avalanche claimed the lives of 43 climbers and now, 35 years later, a camera has been found.

FIELD NOTES
NEW PODCAST
COMING SOON
At Field Notes, my mission is to take listeners behind the scenes of journalism to explore exactly how stories are pitched, reported, edited, and produced.
Hosted by me, a working journalist, the podcast blends conversational expert interviews with reflective first-person storytelling and real sound bites from the moments that made all the difference. It's about the early mornings, late-night edits, and how one story can take you across the world and sometimes halfway up a mountain.
Designed to be both an informal handbook for journalists and an engaging listen for wider audiences, Field Notes demystifies how stories are made and shared, foregrounding craft, uncertainty, and decision-making over headlines.

ON STAGE

Amelia has delivered numerous speeches about documentary production, how to develop compelling stories, and how to overcome the most significant challenges. Her talks are filled with genuine stories from her experiences building award-winning documentaries, features, and the mountains she had to climb to achieve these goals. She has delivered speeches to members of the Alpine Club (the oldest and most elite mountaineering club) and to aspiring mountain medics at the Birmingham Wilderness and Expedition Medicine Society.

VISUAL STORYTELLING THAT COMPLETES THE NARRATIVE
In addition to journalism, I offer freelance graphic design services, creating visually compelling content for brands and businesses. I have worked with companies such as CRJ, Ted Todd, and Lloyds Banking Group, delivering high-quality designs that elevate their branding and communication. I specialise in crafting designs that align with each brand’s identity and objectives.
Whether you need social media graphics, visual messages, or branding, I bring creativity and precision to every project.
Winner of the Dimensions Outstanding Achievement Award in Art, Craft, Design & Technology — 2018 & 2019
LLOYDS BANKING GROUP
I collaborated with Lloyds Banking Group to create a collection of illustrations that translated the brand's key messages into engaging visuals. I was later invited to a conference in London to capture key insights from presentations in real time.

TED TODD
Ted Todd commissioned me to create a series of precise CAD drawings of stair treads and risers to help customers visualize the staircase design in the absence of reference photography. These drawings were created to scale, which meant that they also served as a valuable guide for the craftsmen during construction.
SID SMITH RACING
To help secure sponsorship deals for Sid Smith as he enters another season racing for the Porsche Carrera Cup, I constructed a 16-page sponsorship deck. This included pages displaying his experience and ambitions, as well as pages about his car and technology, along with the sponsorship packages.

CRJ SERVICES
CRJ hired me to create expressive, hand-drawn portraits of their staff for use across their website and social media. The project aimed to humanize the company’s digital presence, offering a more personal and creative way to introduce its team to clients and collaborators.
